Your Quick Guide to Natural Detoxification the Wholistic Way

Are you ready to get rid of the toxins and waste in your body?

If you answered yes, then this quick guide to natural detoxification the wholistic way is for you!

What is detoxification of the body?

Detoxification of the body is simply cleaning out the toxins and waste that has built up in the body.

Toxins build up and slow down the body. Toxins can cause widespread inflammation leading to chronic illnesses.

What to expect from detoxification

When you detoxify your body, you can expect the following:

  • More energy
  • Better digestion
  • Better sleep
  • The ability to handle stress better
  • Weight loss
  • Balance of mind, body, and spirit

Are there any side effects of detoxifying the body? That depends on how you detox. Using a natural wholistic detox plan should have no side effects unless you are allergic to certain foods.

If you use a pill or drink that you purchase there could be side effects that range from stomach upset to diarrhea. These forms of detoxing could also affect any medication you are on. Always speak to your health care professional before starting any detox regime.

Regardless of which detoxifying choice you choose, you may experience the following side effects:

  • Headache and mood changes – this is because you are changing your eating habits all at once. Generally, it is best if you ease into a cleanse cutting back on sugar and things like coffee gradually.
  • Fatigue – again this has to do with the change in your diet. It should not last long though.
  • Upset stomach – this is experienced more often when using chemical detox. If you experience it with a food stop the food that caused the upset stomach. For example, you eat a mango and then your stomach is upset do not eat mango again until after your detox is done. Then try it and see if it upsets your stomach.

How to detoxify naturally

The best way to detoxify is to do it naturally.

What is the natural way?

Natural wholistic detoxification includes eating the right foods, exercise, and drinking plenty of good water.

Let’s look at the foods that will help detox your body.

Foods such as nuts, legumes, fruit, and vegetables are a great source of antioxidants and fiber. These compounds can help flush toxins from the body. They also provide amino acids and essential fatty acids that the body cannot make itself.

Stay away from processed high sugar foods. In fact, it is better if you cook your own food from whole ingredients. That way the food is not full of chemical preservatives and other toxins. It is also cheaper than buying processed premade food.

Add spices, such as turmeric, cumin, cayenne pepper, chili, and other spices can help boost the metabolism and cleanse the body of toxins. They also add flavor to your food. Turmeric can actually help reduce inflammation as well. It is often used in Indian foods such as curries.

Exercise

Exercise can help sweat toxins from the body. The exercise routine should include cardiovascular and strength training. This helps reduce your risk of high blood pressure, heart attack, and stroke. The strength training will help build muscle and strengthen bones and muscles.

Cardiovascular exercise can include walking, running, hiking, swimming, stair climbing, and other exercises that get your heart rate up. You do not have to join a gym to achieve this but it may be helpful to do so.

Strength training can be done with strength training bands and your own body weight. Exercise such as squats, lunges, pushups, and crunches can strengthen your muscles and bones by simply using your body weight. The bands provide resistance which will also help build strength.

You may want to try a trainer to help you build an exercise program that will benefit you to help lose weight, tone muscles, and provide you better balance.

Drinks

Your number one drink should be water. In fact, you should drink 2 quarts of water a day. Water naturally flushes toxins from the body. Reduce your intake of beverages such as coffee and alcohol as they can bring toxins to the body. They also can cause some dehydration. When you detox it is important to keep hydrated.

It is important to keep hydrated at all times but especially so when you are detoxing.
